Meet the Team
Rosemarie Reid
Executive Director
I have always had a passion for working with the elderly and their families. Both of my grandmothers lived with dementia and I was able to witness firsthand the love and compassion that was given to my grandmothers during a difficult time for our family. These caregivers were angels and a god send to our family. This led me to devote my life to improving the lives of others. I began by volunteering at a Skilled Nursing Facility’s Memory Care Unit. I learned the importance of creating moments of joy and happiness for each resident and to help the resident’s family members find joy with their loved ones. I bring many years of experience working in Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care in upstate New York and in Central Florida. I have held the roles of Business Office Manager, Business Director, Healthcare Administrator, Assistant Executive Director, and Executive Director.
I am very passionate when it comes to improving the lives of our residents and our associates. I realize and understand that it takes a very special person to care for and have patience when working with the elderly. I love working side by side with our caregivers whether it is serving a meal or helping with programming. I always instill teamwork to give the best possible care to our residents and I also remind our associates that “Our Residents do not live in our workplace; we work in their home”.
I enjoy spending time with my 3 beautiful grandchildren, cooking and baking Italian recipes handed down from my mother and grandmothers for my family and friends, going to the beach, visiting family and friends in upstate New York and my grandmother taught me the love of crochet.

Ruth Norman
Lifestyle Director
I started working with dementia residents 20 years ago and found I loved serving our senior population. Watching our seniors thrive under the care and compassion they receive in an assisted living environment is simply amazing. I believe that offering enriching programming along with outstanding care is paramount to providing quality of life for our residents. I have committed to training associates to care for our memory care residents through the National Certified Dementia Practitioner training and am trained to offer the Virtual Dementia tour. I have been a Memory Care Director for the past 15 years and am a licensed administrator for the state of Florida. Prior to moving to Florida and embarking on my career in senior living I worked for Yale University Medical School as a laboratory manager.
I believe that providing top notch care and having compassion is the key to our success. Our staff is dedicated to our residents’ well-being, and I applaud their dedication. We will grow our programming team, including new programs and themed weeks to celebrate our residents and staff. Please stop by my office in the fitness center and say hello anytime.
After work, I love baking, knitting and gardening. My husband and I have 4 children and 7 grandchildren they spread between Florida, Georgia, and our home state of Connecticut.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and your families.

Mary Quinn

A native of the Sunshine State, I was born and raised on Miami Beach. Nine years ago we decided to make Viera our home.
For thirty years I was the Executive Administrator of a thriving dental practice in Aventura, Fl. In that role, I enjoyed growing the practice, supporting the patients, and co-creating a team-based environment for all to flourish. In 2015 when I retired, I was prepared to embrace this new phase of my life until I discovered my deeper sense of purpose, working in a memory care community.
My passionate commitment is to contribute to a safe and joyous environment for all the residents who call Alura their home. Everyday I enjoy building relationships with the residents and the staff. Being part of a fine tuned team motivates me to do my best.
Personally, I have been married to my husband Rick for 42 years, we have two grown daughters and one grandson who is nine. Our beloved labradoodle, Maggie, rules our roost.
When not at work, I am a backgammon wizard, enjoying any water sport, traveling and volunteering in my community
